Daniel’s students have performed his original compositions and arrangements, and he believes strongly in the power of music as a tool for growth, creativity, and connection.
As a baritone, Daniel has performed extensively in concert and choral settings. Currently he is preparing for a role in Carmen with the Knoxville Opera. Other recent solo credits include “Not While I’m Around,” “Move On,” and selections from It Takes Two as part of the Athens Arts Council Sondheim Revue (2024), as well as featured baritone roles in Tennessee Wesleyan University’s Spring, Christmas, and Homecoming Concerts (2022–2024). He has appeared as a soloist for numerous university and community events, including multiple commencements and recitals. Daniel has performed with the TWU Choir and Chorale, Mideast Tennessee Community Chorus, and the APSU Chamber Singers.
Daniel is the recipient of the Harrilyn C. Sallis Award for Excellence in Music Theory and the William P. Miller Award for Outstanding Contribution to Choir.
When he’s not teaching or composing, you’ll find him enjoying life with his wife (and fellow educator) Martha, and their big, loving family.Daniel believes that music is for everyone — and that the right guidance can unlock a student’s unique voice, talent, and joy.
